IHeart Radio Muisc Awards: A Night of Inspiriation
The IHeart Radio Music Awards broadcasted live on April 1, 2024. Here is my reaction
The iHeartRadio Music Awards broadcasted live on April 1st, 2024 from the Dolby Theater in Los Angles on FOX . The event was hosted by rapper Ludacris who did quite a splendid job. He also performed a few of his hits with Hop-Hop artist TPain. However, let me not get to far ahead of myself. Let's start from the beginning.
The show started with a performance by Justin Timberlake who performed a melody of "Selfish" and "No Angels," two tracks from his latest album, 'Everything I Thought I Was.' He gave an energizing performance that moved from acoustic to more dance heavy in a matter of moments. It made for an enjoyable sight to see. It's always and enjoyable experience watching JT perform.
The night continued with performances by Green Day, TLC, Jelly Roll & Laniey Wilson, Tate McRae, Jennifer Hudson and Cher. I enjoyed all the performances of the night. My favorites were Jelly Roll and Laniey Wilson, who performed, "Save Me" and Green Day, who performed "Bobby Sox," and "Basket Case."
There were also several honors presented during the night. Cher received the Icon Award, Beyonce was given the Innovator Award and Green Day and TLC both received the Landmark Award.
Some of the big winners of the night were SZA, who received four awards of the night including, R&B Song of the Year, R&B Artist of the Year, R&B Album of the Year and Song of the Year. She came to the podium and accepted her awards so graciously and with so much humility, wearing a beautiful yellow gown. I truly enjoy SZA's modesty, creativity and work ethic.
Other big winners were Jelly Roll, taking home the awards for Best New Artist Pop and Country. Ice-Spice took home Best New Artist (Hip-Hop). Alternative Artist of the Year was achieved by Fall Out Boy (I love this group!) and Taylor Swift won for Pop Artist of the Year.
Overall it was a very enjoyable 2hour award presentation. I loved all the acceptance speeches. Especially the speeches given by Jelly Roll, Cher and Beyonce. Their speeches were so inspiring because they spoke of the adversities they have encountered on their career journey to reach where they are. They spoke of how those adversities helped to shape their success. It was very uplifting and encouraging to hear.
