Let the good times roll! A statement I love and support. I love a good laugh and festivities! However, what happens when those good times begin to fade and change? This seems to be the ever pondering question in life.

I spoke with a good college friend today and it brought me so much joy. We chatted for an hour that felt like fifteen minutes. When we parted ways, because I had to use the restroom and he was dying of hunger, my soul felt so full. I was sad to depart. However so happy we shared that moment. I was instantly transported back to my college days in Louisiana. A time I treasured. A time that I knew without a doubt wouldn't end because I was living my best life having fun. However, as the saying goes, "nothing lasts."

I have always hated that phrase. I have only associated that statement with negative connotations. In recent years however I have developed a new understanding of that phrase. Nothing lasts period. Everything in life is really for a season be it good or bad. I feel it is very important as humans for us to truly understand that. Coming up, that statement for me was only associated to bad things. I suppose it was said to me as a reminder to keep strong through the rough times. Yet, I have found that no one really told me that statements related to all aspect of life because life flows in seasons.

The life journey is a complex trip. It is filled with many challenges and questions. In order to keep the good times rolling you can not be afraid to LIVE. You must be willing to make new friends, try new things and not subscribe to antiquated ways of thinking. I have found that life can be filled with many rules that doesn't always serve everyone. These rules do not always aide, they can limit.

For example, the idea of being an adult. This school of thought that encourages you to bury your inner child. To detach from the things that brought you joy during younger years because you are "an adult." Yet, I have found that many persons living under this school of thought are unhappy. They are not joyful. If anything they are the walking dead in real life not only on AMC network.

Every season of life should be filled with joy. It should not be reserved to only the years of 20 's - 30's. Life is to be lived to the fullest; filled with big laughs and vibrant memories. When a person partakes in enjoyable activities endorphins are released that can greatly improve their mood.

As a reminder endorphins are neurotransmitters released by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus is the brain. As natural hormones, they can lower stress, improve mood and overall enhance your sense of well-being, which is brilliant!

Social media can be a nuisance at times. Yet it can also be a positive gateway into another way of life. I truly enjoy pages of older persons who have decided to rewrite these life rules. When I say older, I mean individuals who are 50's and above living vibrant lives. They are trying new things, finding love, wearing trendy clothes and creating their magnificent bodies. Doing all these things that in the past people would say "you're to old for that." They inspire me and become my life #goals. They give me something to aspire to achieve.

So break these "rules" and dare to live LIFE. Have a belly busting laugh daily. Don't be afraid to be silly sometimes. Live life differently. Live it bold. Live it unapologetically happy because remember nothing lasts and you only get one life. The only thing we have is today, which is a gift. That is why it is called present. So enjoy it to the fullest. Cheers to life!
